Higher temperatures can also contribute to the melting of glaciers and ice caps, leading to sea-level rise.
  2. Sea-Level Rise: As global temperatures increase, the melting of glaciers and ice caps, along with the expansion of warmer seawater, causes sea levels to rise. Rising sea levels pose significant risks to coastal areas, resulting in increased coastal erosion, flooding, and the loss of critical habitats such as wetlands. Low-lying islands and coastal cities are particularly vulnerable to the impacts of sea-level rise.
