Both quantity and quality of water should be adequate for the method chosen as drip and sprinkler irrigation requires clean HO2
Type of Soil;
Furrow irrigation method may not be ideal in sandy soils that have very high drainage rate.
Relief/Topography;
Food irrigation is only suitable where land is leveled/flat
Capital; Some methods require a lot of capital to install them e.g Drip and sprinkler irrigation
Type of crop:
Some crops require more HO2 than others e.g Paddy rice ie flood irrigation only recommended.
Economic viability of the enterprise
The irrigation method that requires a lot of income should be used only if the enterprise yields more profits e.g at Kakira Sugarcane
