The following are human problems faced by cocoa farming in ghana

  • cocoa growing require abundant labour during the year however this is not usually available especially during the harvesting season
  • the poor management of farms leading to low production
  • the low price offered to farmers demolarize them leading them to shift to better paying crops or jobs
  • during the rain season the feeder roads becomes impassable leading to difficult in delivering crops
  • low quality of extensive services provided to farmers
  • competition for land from other crops and activities
  • spoilage of crops due to poor storage
  • pest and diseases leading to reduction of production
