The following are physical condition which favour cocoa farming in Ghana

  • High and well-distributed rainfall (1000 – 1500 mm)
  • high temperature (21-30 centigrade)
  • protection from strong winds that may blow away pods
  • deep well-drained soil
  • lo1w altitude above sea level (0-750 m)
  • presence of a sunny period for drying
  • good policies and strong support from the government
  • high prices of cocoa which they fetch at world market
